My Yearly Survey for New Year's

1. What did you do in 2005 that you'd never done before?

Played drums on a regular basis in front of people, finished my first year of Bible College, started my second year. Bought a skirt (willingly), manicures, pedicures, considered tanning, tried Starbucks, worked at somewhere other than 7-Eleven, fell in love with old people, babysat two sets of twins. Oh, I also saw the Foo Fighters in live, living color!!!

2. Did you keep your New Year's resolutions and will you make more for next year?

I'd have to pull up the email, but if I remember correctly, I think I refused to make one last year. It was probably a rebellious thing ;). This year I did however make a couple.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

My sister and her husband had a bouncing baby boy! Tessa is about to pop at any minute now, and Taralee and S2 are expecting as well!

4. Did anyone close to you die?

My great-grandmother died at the age of 97, and Belle Ames died :(

5. What countries did you visit?

Nothing other than Canada, but from mid-October to Novembrance day, I was in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba!

6. What would you like to have in 2006 that you lacked in 2005?

More time with God. Seriously! I've decided to fast the internet for a day a week to spend some more time in the Bible and such. I haven't picked which day yet. We'll have a look at my class schedule, and I'll let you know when I make the decision!

7. What date from 2005 will remain etched in your memory, and why?

May 20th. For personal reasons.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?

The skirt. I guess making dean's list was pretty big too.

9. What was your biggest failure?

I probably wasn't the best steward of my money. Though I am proud to say that in my first semester of school, I managed not to buy clothes or shoes until the Christmas Party at school.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?

In May (I think) I got the world's nastiest cold and ended up going to the hospital at 6 in the morning because I couldn't breathe. Other than that I think I did ok for the year. As for injuries, nothing more than blisters and bruises.

11. What was the best thing you bought?

Rollerblades, Brett's Christmas present and Starbucks coffee.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?

Jorgia, for being such a good girl at the pool and not running on the deck!

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?

Anyone who was backbiting at Sev all summer, and Bert for still cheating on his wife after like 8 months and a secret pregnancy.

14. Where did most of your money go?

Paying off bills, car payments, and school. Other than that, I would say that shoes would be a safe second. (though I think I bought less than 10 pairs all year. Go me!)

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?

Coming home to see Brett, and summer holidays :).

16. What song will always remind you of 2005?

Anything from Jack Johnson's In Between Dreams will remind me of March/April 2005.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:

i. happier or sadder? Let's see. I'm not working at sev anymore, Brett and I are still together, and I get to buy clothes. Much happier!!!!

ii. thinner or fatter? I don't know actually. I probably haven't weighed myself in over 2 years.

iii. richer or poorer? Well, I don't really have an income anymore, and I'm spending borrowed money. But I feel richer!

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?

Socializing. I'm such a hermit.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?

Moping around and surfing the internet.

22. Did you fall in love in 2005?

What do you think?

23. How many one-night stands?

No. I have to lie down to sleep, thanks.

24. What was your favorite TV program?

Arrested Development was the discovery of the year. and House. and Criminal Minds. 24 and CSI are still old favey's though.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?

I don't think so.

26. What was the best book you read?

Real Presence by Leanne Payne, or Freakonomics.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?

Waking Eyes.

29. What did you want and not get?

Video iPod, Taylor Acoustic Guitar, Laptop. I did get a wireless mouse and keyboard and a sub system for my current computer though.

30. What was your favorite film of this year?

so many! Just Friends, Harvey Potter, and though I technically did see Crash yesterday, it was made in 2005, and was rather good.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?

I led praise and worship at church, went and watched Brett play baseball, went for supper with Brett's parents, and Brett took me out for ice cream. I turned 21!!!

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?

A world tour. Or my own computerized house made of stainless steel and leather couches and big screen tv's.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2005?

Pink is the new blue!

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?

Kiefer and John. We're on a first name basis now.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?

Gay Mirrage.

37. Who did/do you miss?

Brandon friends, the Dwelling Place, Brett.

38. Who was the best new person you met?

Wendy Toews.

39. Quote a few song lyrics that sums up your year:

Hey! Wait! I got a new complain! Forever in debt to your priceless advice!!!

Sorry that was so long guys. I made a couple of resolutions for the year. But I heard if you tell them, they won't come true. So... until next time...
