My VBS-tastic Week
Howdy folks!
Today is officially day two of bonfire day camp, a VBS that the church is putting on.
I'm in charge of singing time, and I also help out in the acting department for story time.
Last night is going to be very hard to top. I dressed up as the innkeeper in the birth story! The scene is that these kids wake me up in the middle of the night, so I got to play a crotchety old man! I used House as my inspiration, and walked with a cane, shaking it in kids faces (no vicodin addiction though....). It was great fun! Gloria also did an amazing job telling the story of Jesus' birth and using the point that Jesus is the Light of the world!
Tonight is Zacchaeus, and I hope it will be just as good! Gloria and I are dressing up in one of those things where my feet are made from my hands, and my hands are Gloria's hands... I don't know... I'm sure you all remember gags like that from VBS's or Sunday Schools....
Anyway, I have some lines to memorize and a trailor to trash... and by trailor... i mean my office, and by trash, I mean clean... because it's been filled with messy messy things in order to prep for this VBS!
See ya!

My 12th week
Hey guys,
this week is officially weeks 12 of my internship here at Weston.
Week 11 was a very, very, very busy one.
Monday was my birthday, so I spent the day at home hanging with the family, which was very nice. I missed my sister and her family by like a day, which is kind of a bummer, since I haven't seen her since probably the week after Easter. The kids have forgotten who uncle Brett is! Hopefully I'll see them before the end of summer. Who knows, maybe I'll take a week so I can go and visit them.
Then, I spent some very long and labourous days getting ready for our garage sale fundraiser...
I'm pretty sure I inhaled about 9 pounds of dust. But... 60 hours of work later, we made over $2000 to fund some of our youth ministry, so I would say it was well worth it.
On Friday, we had a quiet night at youth and watched 8 Below. I was so emotionally and physically drained that I gushed tears at the end. The only person who had enough stones to say anything about it though was Gloria, so I didn't mind it all that much.
Hmmm... OH! congrats to Andrew and Starla. I must say, I was quite jealous when I heard the news!
But, you still have to admit, no one is cuter than this couple
(awwwwwwwwww!)
Anyway, enough self-glorification!
Next week Felicia and I are putting on a VBS here at the church. Week after that is Go-Carts night on Friday, and a Third Day concert the following monday.
What else... I dunno
Today has been fairly lax, as I am recovering from last week still.
TA!

My Happy Birthday!
Well...
I fortunately didn't have to endure the birthday bumps this year... and boy am I glad! That would have been a long ride!
Kids, just yesterday, I turned 22.
Yes. 22. I know, it's incredibly old.
I would say the best present I got was the company of my main man, and my family... plus, the ultimately cool book by postsecret from Brett! GO POSTSECRET!
Thanks for the wonderful phonecalls from Nicole and Mollie!
And for my birthday porkchops!!!!!!
Anyway, is that enough of an update for you???
